Hundreds of fantastic and nostalgic photos, many previously unpublished, document the rise of one of the oldest – in1888 Everton were invited to become one of the founder members of The Football League – and most famous clubs in the world. From the days of being nicknamed the Black Watch, after the famous military regiment, and winning their 1st FA Trophy in 1906 to the clubs success through the efforts of players such as Dean, Lawton, Hickson, Young, and Vernon.  There’s the sixties, one of the most successful decades in Everton's history when they won the FA Cup in 1966 and the League Championship in 1962-63 and 1969-70. The Holy Trinity years of Ball, Kendall and Harvey were so memorable that Evertonians still discuss this decade on a daily basis. This book brings to life, forgotten stories, the highs, the lows, the personalities and reveals the real history through images that speak thousands of words.
