Welcome to New Jersey (Welcome To)

Welcome to New Jersey! We're glad you're here! Children from New Jersey and those eager to visit someday will love this lively, fact-packed picture book celebration of “The Garden State.”

From farmland and small towns to big city life, along the Jersey shore and deep in the Pine Barrens, New Jersey offers endless places to discover. Young readers will meet state symbols like the Eastern goldfinch, learn how a group of schoolkids lobbied to make the blueberry the state fruit, and get to know favorite regional foods—from hoagies to salt water taffy.

Warm, detailed illustrations highlight the many delights to be found throughout the state. And the easy-yet-informative details (“If you’re in Edgewater and you hear squawking, it might be the wild parrots!”) give just the right amount of information to kids from preschool on up.

Whether for travel, classroom use, or hometown pride, Welcome to New Jersey is the perfect keepsake for residents and visitors alike.
