The Little Gardener

Once there was a vast pond, glistening in the bright sunlight. On this side of the pond was a garden, lovingly tended by a gnome named Milo. The garden sparkled from Milo’s care, filling him with joy, pride, and enchantment.

One afternoon, with all the hard garden work done early, Milo sat down to rest and gazed across the pond. To his great surprise, he spied another garden sparkling in the bright sunlight. Looking back, Milo’s own garden dimmed in comparison. His joy wilted. His pride withered. His heart filled with envy. How could he make his garden as sparkly and enchanting as that one?
