The Dog from Ipanema

The rollicking story of an exuberant pup’s day at the beach—inspired by the iconic bossa nova song and the beloved stray dogs of Brazil

Small and squat and gold and frisky . . . Meet the dog from Ipanema, an endearing little stray dog full of confidence and energy. Nothing can stop him from having a great day at the beach—not honking cars, fussy sunbathers, or busy futebol players. He’s oblivious to them all! After all, he’s only interested in nonstop play—which eventually leads him to the conclusion that perhaps it might be nice to slow down and find someone to play with?

With vibrant art and rhythmic text, this joyous tale celebrates Brazil’s beloved vira-lata caramelos (caramel-colored mutts) and famed beaches and gives a nod to the iconic bossa nova song.
