Having moved from the richest suburb in America to a plantation in Florida (which his father dreams of recreating as Tara, the mansion from Gone with the Wind), George Tabb enters late adolescence with a black leather jacket and a penchant for punk rock — quirks that don’t sit well with his conservative Southern classmates. In Surfing Armageddon, Tabb shares his painfully funny recollections of teenage rebellion, family turmoil, and an abusive father with black humor and real humanity.George Tabb is an iconic and influential songwriter, musician, television producer, actor, author, and activist. His bands, from Roach Motel to Furious George have been influential to musicians around the globe, and young musicians continue to re-record many of Tabb’s original songs to this day. His first two books Playing Right Field and Surfing Armageddon, both memoirs, have won various awards, as well as have been translated into many languages across the globe. He lives in New York City.
