AUGUST DORN\u003c\/b\u003e is Professor of Zoology at the Institute ofZoology, Johannes Gutenberg-University (JOGU) in Mainz, Germany.After his doctoral degree from the JOGU, he carried out a researchproject at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York:Neuroendocrine Processes in Insect Embryos. Since 1972 he isprofessor at the JOGU and teaches General and AppliedEndocrinology. His chief research interests are EndocrineRegulation of Insect Reproduction, Role of Hormones in Locust PhasePolymorphism and Mode of Action of Natural Insect GrowthRegulators. In 1981\/82 he was Visting Professor at the Departmentof Biology at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill (USA)sponsored by the VW-Stiftung.
