Description
Rehrās Sahib & Sohila: Way to God in Sikhism – Book 4 is a profound guide to two of the most spiritually significant Sikh evening prayers. Rooted in devotion, reflection, and gratitude, these sacred hymns are recited to offer thanks at the end of the day and to seek divine protection through the night. This book explores the deeper meanings of Rehrās Sahib, a prayer that fortifies the spirit after a day’s work, and Sohila, a nighttime hymn that prepares the soul for rest and spiritual surrender. Perfect for readers seeking clarity, devotion, and understanding of Sikh practices, this book serves as both a spiritual companion and a cultural cornerstone.

| Maneshwar S. Chahal is the author of the highly acclaimed ‘Way to God in Sikhism’ series, which started with the much reprinted Japji Sahib. Commentaries on Āsa di Vār, Jāp Sahib, and Rehrās Sahib & Sohila have followed. His lucid and elegantly presented delineation of the spiritual path in the context of the intensely humanistic Sikh belief system has been greatly appreciated by scholars and laymen alike. Graduating with honours in English Literature, he acquired a degree in Engineering and a Masters in Public Administration. He has had a diverse and rich life, as an Army man, an administrator, a banker and as a judge on the Human Rights Commission. He wrote award-winning short stories early in his life but later took it upon himself to bring to the world the Sikh scriptures, in a modern idiom, with the non-Punjabi speaking reader in mind. Amid a very busy career, he has continued to be a deeply devoted student of Spirituality, as evidenced by the depth he exhibits of the real meaning of true religion, one that sees the One Lord in all and rises above narrow ritualism. Chahal lives in Chandigarh and can be reached at chahal37@hotmail.com
