In Search of Narwhals (A Nat Geo Kids Graphic Novel)

Nat Geo Kids’ first graphic novel turns the real-life travels of a National Geographic Explorer into a thrilling, fact-based adventure as photographer Kiliii Yuyan chases the perfect shot of one of the Arctic’s most amazing and mysterious creatures: the narwhal!

As a child, Kiliii Yuyan thrilled to the tales his grandmother told him of his ancestor and namesake, a magical traveler who rode on the back of an orca in a desperate bid to save his people from starvation.

Now, as a National Geographic Explorer and photographer, Kiliii lives a wild life at the edge of the world. Still inspired by his grandmother’s story, he journeys to the Arctic Circle of Greenland on assignment--little knowing he's about to be recruited for a scientific expedition to find narwhals. But for Kiliii and his friends to succeed, they'll have to face many dangers, from melting glaciers to hungry polar bears, on their quest to find these elusive "unicorns of the sea."

In Search of Narwhals is the story of Kiliii Yuyan's love of exploration and how far it takes him. Life in the Arctic is changing faster than ever, but Kiliii is there to document it before it disappears forever.
