Starting over in a new place is never easy—but a warm welcome makes it so much easier!

A little girl’s journey to a new life means standing in many lines. First, she waits to board a boat on her way to the other side of the world. Next, she lines up to enter the shelter of a giant tent, full of cots and cloud-like pillows for her whole family. There will be more lines along the way, and while some might seem endless, all are worth the wait, especially when there’s a warm smile or hot meal at the end of the line.

Inspired by the author’s childhood experiences coming to the United States from Vietnam as a refugee, this moving book shines a light on the lasting impact of being greeted with kindness and compassion.
