Hot Pastrami and Cold-Blooded Murder

When a Broadway producer is found stabbed in her elegant Upper East Side brownstone, the spotlight falls on the World’s Greatest Detective to solve the case.

Aubrey Merritt and her assistant, Olivia Blunt, are summoned to investigate the murder of Athena Demos, an icon in the theater world with ties to New York City’s old-money elite. For Olivia, the case is a chance to step forward and prove herself as a detective, though her boss remains as exacting and unpredictable as ever.

At the crime scene, the NYPD sense something is amiss: strange, almost theatrical details point to a killer well-versed in performance. As Merritt and Blunt begin their investigation, they discover that amid legal battles, strained family relationships, and professional rivalries, Athena had no shortage of enemies. But which long-held resentment boiled over into this ruthless crime?

As the web of suspects grows more tangled, it will take both Merritt and Blunt to identify the murderer. But Olivia begins to wonder whether the case—and the woman she works for—hold more secrets than she first imagined.
