He received his Ph.D. in Ceramics from Alfred University and is a Fellow of The American Ceramic Society, a member of the German Society of Glass Technology, serves as Committee Chair for the International Commission on Glass, Technical Committee 6 (Mechanical Properties of Glass), and is a member of the National Institute of Ceramic Engineers.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eGeorge D. Quinn\u003c\/b\u003e is a Ceramic Engineer at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, MD. He has 1 patent and has created 3 standard reference materials.
