Lyketsos\u003c\/b\u003e, MD, MHS, is the Elizabeth Plank Althouse Professor and Chair of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Bayview. A world expert in the care and treatment of patients with Alzheimer's and related dementias (AD), Dr. Lyketsos has carried out pioneering work on the epidemiology and treatment of neuropsychiatric features of AD. He leads efforts to ensure the provision of state-of-the-art dementia care for people with dementia living at home in the community. Dr. Lyketsos was the 2012 American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry's Distinguished Scientist Award recipient and the 2006 William S. Proxmire Award recipient for extraordinary leadership in the fight against Alzheimer's. A Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology, he has been elected to the American College of Psychiatrists. Dr. Lyketsos has written more than 350 peer-reviewed journal articles, chapters, and commentaries, as well as five books.
