Upon arriving in Arles, Van Gogh quickly became enamoured with the blossoming fruit trees that cover the region. Inspired and invigorated by their beauty, Van Gogh devoted an entire series of paintings to them, each of which conveys the sense of hope and awakening he felt at the time.
