The Fanart of Falling in Love: A Novel

When Alex’s wisecracking roommate discovers her double life as a “not safe for work” fanartist, she’ll need to color outside the lines to ensure he keeps her dirty secret under wraps—a strategy that works until their flirty pact starts looking a lot like love.

Alex Palmer: Introvert. Anxiety-sufferer. Social media–famous fanartist.

When she isn't juggling a mind-numbing job, art school, and lingering grief over her father’s death, Alex draws spicy fanart featuring ripped superheroes and risqué anime characters. Online, her anonymous fanart account has quite the following, but offline, the secret must be protected at all costs, especially from her three male roommates.

Despite hiding her alter ego from them, cohabitating with a car salesman, a sportswriter, and an elementary school teacher works surprisingly well . . . until Matt, the dreamy educator with a penchant for asking offbeat questions, sees Alex selling her fanart at a comic con.

Impulsively, Alex offers him a deal: three wishes in exchange for his silence. But just as things start heating up between them, and a potentially life-changing comic competition nears, Alex’s carefully compartmentalized worlds collide when someone sets their ill-intentioned sights on her, forcing her to choose between protecting her fanart secret and risking it all to embrace both sides of herself.

To secure her own happily ever after, Alex will have to face the troll trying to tear her down—and find the courage to become her own biggest fan.
