He brought out \u003ci\u003eThe New Testament: An American Translation\u003c\/i\u003e in 1923, and continued to work on a translation of the entire Bible, completing his work with the publication of this translation of \u003ci\u003eThe Apocrypha\u003c\/i\u003e in 1938. His other works include \u003ci\u003eAn Introduction to the New Testament\u003c\/i\u003e (1937), \u003ci\u003eA Life of Jesus \u003c\/i\u003e(1950), and \u003ci\u003eAs I Remember\u003c\/i\u003e (1953), his autobiography.
