People Person: A Novel

A ruthlessly funny novel about a high school outsider’s obsession with the most popular boy in her class—and just how far she’ll go to insinuate herself into his life

Bound for Christian college in the fall, Jodie spends the final weeks of her senior year trying and failing to be relevant. No one bullies her, but no one wants to be her friend, either—let alone her boyfriend. In the shadow of her classmates’ apathy, she is consumed by a single desperate desire: to get with Caelab, a handsome and reckless alpha, the undisputed king of their school.

When fate tragically intervenes, Jodie senses another opportunity. With Caelab out of reach, she shifts her focus to his identical twin, Adam, devising a way to connect with him when he is at his most vulnerable. But as Jodie climbs the social ladder she has long studied from afar, an eerie, seemingly implausible suspicion about Adam begins to take hold. What if Jodie’s calculated plan is not the only one at play?

Absurd, original, and strangely hypnotic, People Person charts the rise of an unremarkable young woman determined to capture a taste of life among the chosen, at any cost.
