Since teaming up in the mid-nineties, Miranda and Bec have formed an inimitable design duo. To each project, they bring a depth of culture, an infectious joie de vivre, an unmistakable theatrical aesthetic, and a serious sense of fun. The book presents Oitoemponto’s work method and inspirations, which range from eighteenth-century French interiors to Hollywood Regency, from an eccentric Swedish countess to movies like Barbarella and Rebecca. The chapters are structured by room typology, with striking visual juxtapositions that showcase projects from different parts of the world and different periods of their career. The texts transcribe their upbeat personalities, while also providing informative decorating tips such as how an entry hall should be designed as both a point of arrival and departure, or how to successfully combine objects and artworks.
