North Carolina (A True Book: My United States)

More than 10 million people call the southeastern state of North Carolina home.

A True Book: My United States series allows readers to experience what makes each of the fifty state distinctive and exceptional. Readers will get to know each states' history, geography, wildlife and future outlook. This series includes an age appropriate (grades 3-5) introduction to curriculum-relevant subjects and a robust resource section that encourages independent study. Readers will visit the state's beautiful wilderness and diverse cities as they get a feel for the local culture. Along the way, they will learn about North Carolina's history, find out how the state is governed, and see what role it plays in the national economy. They will also find out what life is like for the state's people, from what they eat to how they spend their free time.
