Index. "Examines the physical aspects of laser remote sensing and gives specific examples of airborne lidar systems and their practical application." (SciTech Book News, Vol. 25, No. 3, September 2001)

"...a useful reference...provides an excellent overview of the theory and practice of spectral lidar remote sensing for the evaluation of marine environments." (Physics Today, January 2003)

Alexey Fedorovich Bunkin is Russian physicist and researcher. Achievements include being the first to realize the nonlinear laser spectoscopy application for remote sencing of chemical contaminations in the ocean. He is a recipient of the Soviet Union State prize, 1984; International Science grantee, 1992-1995.

Konstantin I. Voliak is the author of Laser Remote Sensing of the Ocean: Methods and Applications, published by Wiley.
