Laurel Burch was a self-taught artist and “flower child” who sold handmade jewellery on the streets of San Francisco in the 1960s. Later on, she continued to rely on her intuition and passion, speaking from the heart with an unmistak<\h>able style that was the manifestation of her love of life and strong imaginative nature. From her fertile imagination, she created brilliantly coloured, vibrant and moving themes with paint and paper, exquisitely embellished with gold and silver.<\#13><\e><\e>In this Jungle Song design, Laurel Burch’s original characters, foliage and other details have been adapted by a Japanese artisan to create a new watercolour painting. The artwork was created in order to adapt Laurel’s designs for screen printing. Repeated patterns from Laurel’s original works, includ<\h>ing borders, backgrounds and animals, were selected to create an entirely new, seamless design in her unique style.<\#13><\e><\e>It is our pleasure to share Laurel’s enduring legacy with the world, demon<\h>strating in this example how her unique vision continues to evolve and inspire.
