Huma Bhabha is a Karachi-born, New York-based artist known for her sculptures depicting the strangeness and vulnerability of the contemporary figure. Bhabha’s hybridized forms, which exist at the intersection between ancient and modern art, are conspicuous for their pathos, humor, and ability to address some of the most sensitive issues of our time. Posing questions about the alien qualities of unfamiliar beings, and the criteria by which lifeforms are considered monsters, Bhabha’s sculptures are defined by a sense of timelessness and technical mastery.

This eagerly anticipated monograph, created in close collaboration with the artist, reveals the breadth and impact of Bhabha’s work.
