Description
Childhood is traditionally seen as a carefree time, at least by adults. However, given widespread terrorism, natural disasters, and an increasingly lawless society, these are anxious times. Research suggests that children and young people are likely to suffer from worry, stress, depression and anxiety-related disorders. The Royal College of Psychiatrists, for example, suggests that somewhere between five and ten per cent of youngsters have anxiety problems, while a poll of 750 young people aged between 11 and 16 by the NSPCC found that more than a third of them were always worried.
