Despite its name, Greenland isn't very green. Rather, it is covered almost entirely in rock, ice, and snow. And though it is the world's largest island, few people live there. Ruth Bjorklund graduated from the University of Washington with a master’s degree in library and information science. She has written numerous books for young people on a variety of topics, including American history, country studies, biography, wildlife, alternative energy, and the environment. Bjorklund lives with her husband and daughter on Bainbridge Island, a short ferry ride away from Seattle, Washington.
