Located in far northern Europe, Finland is a land of vast, green forests and long, cold winters. It is also a watery place, with thousands of lakes and islands. Readers will explore Finland's rich and fascinating history, from its earliest days to the present. They will also find out how the people of Finland live, from what they like to eat and which languages they speak and which kinds of jobs they do.

Geri Clark has been writing nonfiction for middle school audiences for twenty years. Most of her work focuses on science and mathematics, but she loves the opportunity to dive into something different. Clark is a graduate of Cornell University and the New York University School of Journalism. Her work has appeared in many classroom publications including Scholastic Science World and Scholastic MATH.
