Sense and Sensibility: The Dashwood sisters must rebuild their lives after their father’s death. They approach love from opposite standpoints: Marianne, who wears her heart on her sleeve, allows herself to be swept away by the seducer John Willoughby, without considering the consequences; Elinor, on the other hand, more mindful of convention, silently suppresses her own romantic disappointment.
