AJIN combines super-natural themes with sci-fi action for a very modern high-paced yarn that should compete with most popular current manga and comic titles.

How do you neutralize, for good, a master tactician who literally won't die? His opposite number in cold calculating genius, our boy anti-hero, thinks he has a plan. It involves a squad of elite soldiers, a hole dug in the ground, and just a tiny window of time.[W]hen I realised I'd forgotten most, if not all, of the relevant issues of the series I decided to reread it. And damn I'm glad I did!! [...] It's great to see more and more manga taking this approach for stories. Black and White/Good or Evil are great in their own right, but so are stories of grey areas.

-The ButtonsmashersGamon Sakurai is a Japanese comic book artist from Tokyo. Born in 1986, Sakurai was selected for the Afternoon Magazine Four Seasons Award for New Comic Artists. Upon being selected for the award his short story was published and he was selected for editorial review by manga publishing giant Kodansha.

Sakurai would make his publishing debut with indie publisher Issuisha in 2010, releasing a short story anthology. He would then work with Kodansha to work on his first feature length series Demi-human in 2012. In 2013, AJIN was selected as the #3 manga in 2013 by Japanese comic editors and mangaka.
