Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890) was one of the great Post-Impressionist painters. After moving to the village of Arles, his paintings grew brighter and he experimented with still life pieces, which he called “colour studies”. We are honoured to partner with the Barnes Foundation to bring one of Van Gogh’s finest pieces of still life to our collection.
