Ned Freed graduated from Boston College with a B.S. in mathematics, earned an M.B.A from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and holds a PhD in Management Science (1978) from the University of Colorado. He has authored a number of articles dealing with mathematical programming applications to statistical problems and has worked extensively with Prof. Fred Glover at the University of Colorado to produce linear programming alternatives to conventional methods of multivariate discriminant analysis. Professor Glover was awarded the 2010 IMPACT Award by the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) for contributions that have had a broad and enduring impact on the fields of Operations Research and Management Science. INFORMS is that largest professional society in the world for professionals in the field of operations research (O.R), management sciences, and business analytics.
