Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel was renowned as the designer who dressed the modern women. In the 1920s and 1930s this encompassed soft wool suits, wearable day dresses including many "Little Black Dresses," and delightful beaded evening wear in soft fabrics. Following a self-imposed retirement, she re-emerged in the 1950s with the classic tweed suits, usually collarless with braided trim, with which her name has become synonymous. This book of paper dolls showcases 18 of her designs from the 1920s to the late 1960s. They span elegant day wear as well as evening gowns and still with the air of modernity for which she is renowned. There are two dolls, each with a range of outfits designed to fit them.
