Ben Shaw writes humbly and powerfully from his own experience and is always honest, clear and engaging. This is an excellent book for anyone prepared to give the Christian faith a look—or at least open to being persuaded that it might be worth doing so. | If you’ve never seriously considered the claims of Christianity, you will want to read this book. I wish I had read it in my agnostic days. It is clear, credible and convincing. You won’t be disappointed. | This is a book that connects to real people. Its chapter headings got me in. They’re all the right questions, and Ben gives compelling answers. As such, the book is also really useful, especially in our contemporary western context, where so many are moving away from the Christian faith, from Christian knowledge, or even from Christian awareness. | Ben began adult life as a full-time musician before completing a B.Th (hons) at Moore College, Sydney, Australia. He went on to become a minister in Sydney and then in Wimbledon, London, UK. He was the Senior Minister of the Boathouse Church, Putney for seven years until cancer forced him into early retirement. Ben had a keen interest in early Christianity and the history of Biblical manuscripts in particular. In 2012 he spent a week digging with the Bethsaida Excavations Project in Bethsaida, Galilee. Through all this, Ben maintained a deep love of all sports and was faithfully supported by his high-achieving wife, Karen. Ben passed away in 2021 after a battle with cancer.
