Dressing-up, dancing, painting, splashing. In I See You Play, a caregiver notices and celebrates how toddlers do the important work of exploring their world through play. This book engages little ones with rhyming text and bouncy rhythm, while guiding adults in how to validate and encourage children’s play.

I See You Series

Children thrive when adults see them and love them for who they are right now. These fun-to-read books provide ways of noticing and affirming how toddlers are growing physically, emotionally, and socially. Each book features a single toddler (or, in this case, a set of twins!) and takes place over the course of a few hours in a toddler's daily routine. These simple and tender books cover themes of emotions, resilience, kindness, curiosity, physical growth, and self-expression.

| I See You Play is one in a six–board book series celebrating toddlers. Twin toddlers tumble and run, build and pretend as a caregiver notices all the ways they play—learning as they go. Children thrive when adults acknowledge their accomplishments and love them for who they are right now. The I See You series models language adults can use to validate and affirm the children in their care. Each book takes place over the course of a few hours in a toddler’s day and repeats the phrases “I see you,” “I watch you,” and “I hear you.” With their bouncy rhythm and charming rhyme, these books are perfect for engaging little ones. |

Deborah Farmer Kris is a child development expert, parent educator, and the author of Raising Awe-Seekers: How the Science of Wonder Helps Our Kids Thrive, the All the Time picture book series and the I See You board book series. Her bylines include CNN, PBS KIDS, NPR's Mindshift, The Washington Post, the Boston Globe Magazine,and Oprah Daily. Deborah spent over twenty years as a K-12 teacher and administrator and currently serves as an expert advisor for a PBS KIDS show Carl the Collector. Mostly, she loves sharing nuggets of practical wisdom that can help kids and families thrive.

Jane Massey studied graphic design at Kingston University and worked for agencies in London and Hong Kong before choosing to focus on illustration. As well as illustrating over 60 children's books, she's created artwork for packaging, stationary, and advertising. One of her sketches was recently engraved on a telecommunications satellite that was launched into space. Jane lives and works in Hove on the South Coast of England.
