Sansevero Chapel and the Veiled Christ in Naples

The Sansevero Chapel, located in the heart of historic Naples, is a treasure chest of baroque beauty, fascination, and mystery. There are 28 statues in the chapel, including The Veiled Christ (1753), a masterpiece of translucent drapery and emotive power by Giuseppe Sanmartino, which was much admired by Canova.
