Science Fair Cookies

Emma has a nutty idea for her science fair project. With her dad’s help, she uses acorns to make cookies. She's sure to win an award for mixing science with cookies, right? Emma is Deaf and wears a cochlear implant (CI) to help her hear. She uses American Sign Language (ASL) as well. An ASL alphabet chart and a Learn to Sign section emphasize elements of Emma's daily life, as do the selection of words that are fingerspelled throughout the text in this early chapter book.
